About Kuruvikulam
Kuruvikulam (குருவிகுளம் ) is a village in southern Tamil Nadu. This village is located in Tirunelveli District. The nearest railway station for kuruvikulam is sankarankovil town(15km).
And sankarankovil is also the taluk headquarters for kuruvikulam. Kuruvikulam was the Panchayat Union Headquarters for Kuruvikulam Union. Kuruvikulam Panchayat Union is one of the largest Panchayat Union in Tamilnadu.
Agriculture and safety matches both are the major works of kuruvikulam people's. In kuruvikulam there is two most famous temples are here.
They are Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple and Kuruvikulam Karuppasamy Temple with Siththan kaatha Ayyanaar Temple. From these two the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple was build in the end of 16th century. And also it is second biggest Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Tamilnadu next to Madurai. The Chithirai Car Festival is a very special in this temple at the time when the festival going on Madurai.
And also there is an mountain temple named Aanamalai Ayyanaar Temple, that is very good tourist place. And also the nearest tourist spot of kuruvikulam is "Ellora of southern" 'Vettuvaan Rock Temple' located at Kalugumalai. This village located as per the government map was 20km away from kanyakumari - bangalore highways NH7, and 3km away from tuticorin - Kuttralam State highway.
